About Us 

Located in Chester, we are Nova Scotia’s first and only one-stop all-inclusive residential, vocational and therapeutic service provider for adults with intellectual disabilities. Our participants are the reason we are here and they have come from across Nova Scotia and beyond to access our services.

We use an individualized approach for each participant, and are known for our great support for participants and staff alike.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support staff scheduling
  • Payroll data management & tracking of leave credits
  • Clerical responsibilities
  • Financial records management
  • Reception
  • Effectively communicate with Participants, co-workers, supervisors
  • Work as part of a team

 

Work Environment

  • Requires weekday work during normal business hours
  • Office environment
  • 70 hours bi-weekly
  • May experience crisis situations, which place the safety and well-being of our staff and participants in jeopardy

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Possess a relevant post secondary diploma/certificate
  • Creative problem solver
  • Previous scheduling experience in the unionized health care sector (an asset)
  • Developed spreadsheet & Word Processing Skills
  • Experience (an asset) working with or supporting people living with physical and/or intellectual disability
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Suitable Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Driver’s licence & satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Willingness to achieve first aid within 6 months of hire
