Bonny Lea Farm has been providing supports to men and women who live with the challenge of intellectual and physical disabilities for over 40 years. Due to a pending retirement, we are seeking applications from interested and qualified individuals to fill a very diverse management role.

The Association Support Coordinator has three primary areas of responsibility: planning and delivery of internal staff training, coordination of the annual Individual Program Plan process for each of our participants, and planning and executing several small and large fund-raising events throughout the year. This position supports the human resource needs of the organization through coordination of our recruitment and new employee orientation and supports volunteers in either event participation or work with participants.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in understanding participant centered supports for people who live with the challenge of intellectual and/or physical disabilities and she/he must be able to facilitate and document the process that supports participants, staff, and families in the development of annual goals. A skill set that has equipped the candidate to develop and deliver curriculum which supports the professional development needs of our employees would also be an asset.  Experience in planning, organizing, and executing small and large events (including organizing and managing volunteers) on an annual basis will round out the range of skills and experience for the ideal candidate. 

The successful candidate will possess suitable academic qualifications and sufficient previous paid or volunteer work experience where they have demonstrated the various skill sets required. Additional qualifications include current First Aid and CPR certification, Class 4 Driver’s license or eligibility to obtain same, technological literacy including MS Office software, familiarity with alternative/augmented communication skills, capacity to lift and carry or stand for extended periods of time, and physical capacity to be trained in and apply all aspects of a recognized non-violent crisis management approach (such as Mandt. A job offer will be contingent upon the successful candidate providing a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check, satisfactory employment references, proof of clear drivers abstract satisfactory to our insurer and a Class 4 license (or eligibility to obtain same), and proof of their academic credentials.

This position reports to the Managing Director and the work environment is a general office environment within our participants’ vocational program. Exposure to noise, frequent interruptions, occasional need to transport and carry items up to 20 lbs are considerations.  The regular work week is generally between 8 am and 4 pm on weekdays but some evening and weekend work will be required in support of annual events. Salary range is $47,000 to $53,000 per year with a cost shared group insurance, matching group RRSP program, and generous annual paid leave.
